Tall Trees Studio

Opened in October 1996 Tall Trees Studio provides a multi-track Hard Disk recording service specialising in acoustic recordings using the latest technology. The recording system is based around Soundscape which provides the hard disk and computer interface. Analogue input is provided via a TL Audio C-1 Dual Valve Compressor mic pre-amp from Audio-Technica 4033 & 4050 microphones. Once digitised all processing, effects and mixing are performed digitally controlled via on screen editing. Backups are to a separate hard disk or to a DAT. The final master also being produced on DAT or CD.

Though most of the work in the studio is acoustic the availability of keyboards is essential to any studio and in Tall Trees Studio this is provided by a Korg X5D with the computer midi interface being provided by a Soundblaster AWE32 using Digital Orchestra Pro as a sequencer to provide the synching between the acoustic recordings made on Soundscape and the midi recordings.

Our latest purchase is a Creamware PULSAR card which provides a digital mixing and effects processor linked to our Soundscape system via ADAT/TDIF and SPDIF.
